Maniac Warning! Here I go again! Sorry Folks, but I get these little prompts from the powers that be from earth.care2.com. I don't always get to them,

I don't always care. I do always want to help where I can, and be as informed as I can, but I have a theory about that too. Should I go on? No? Well then, I'll just say that it is EASY to say what you stand for. It is not easy to keep up with the rig-a-ma-row though. For one thing, I am not privy to a bunch of the big industry issues, simply because I am not a Big industry, nor do I pretend to be close to it. I, personally don't want to be close to it. I live in a really industrialized area and it is a huge mess! They don't even try to 'fluph' anymore, which is okay by me. Kind of 'third world' lookin' in some spots, but call it how you see it? ya know?
So, my little letter is posted here. I probably sound looney, or immature, or ignorant, but that's how it is. My daughter said that it's better that way, and now-a-days I feel a bit concerned about their generations plights, but try to be that 'live for today' to the best we can kinda momma. anywho!!!

# 36,525:
I know we all drive cars to work and for the family, but how can we curb our own driving habits and keep our bills paid? I don't know exactly how to change these problems, but I do know that we need careful consideration where oil drilling is concerned. If we can get to a TRUE safer energy supply, that would be the best a company, government, and society could do! If we are going to keep with the oil, then we need a lot more security for our planet and all of its inhabitants! Agreed?
Some careful considerations for the people and wildlife around these drilling sights, and a whole lot of research and discloser are just the tip of the iceberg I'd like to see.
Thank you for your time sir!
Namesta,
Allisonian

So this gets mailed to our President Barack Obama along with some of what earth care wants to have said, K (?) I want to edit them sometimes and that is why I 'sometimes' don't want to write, Or I am simply not on the same page as them, but I like people who are still working on making things better, and maybe even someday, sustainable. GO TEAM Earth Care! Who among you will be number 36,526? Or let me know how you really feel, as one of my esteemed colleagues would say.

I believe, I believe

I have studied proper food combining for years. In study, I mean, I am the case. I have done what Mike says in the previous article here. But when it comes to eating fruit before a meal, I would take care to see how you feel after. I may be able, in the immediate future, find the article on the food digestion table.
One thing to consider when eating a whole fruit before each meal is that you may want to then wait about 30 minutes, or not consume a vegetable right after.
I have also heard, though, that fruit is any plant (fruit, vegie) that contains seeds. I'll have to look that up too, to confirm.
It is good to consider then research as I know many of you do.
Just sayin'~~~

On[un] ~ Syrup and other Wild Concoctions

I woke up this morning with that feeling in my throat that I had recently heard (throat clearingly) in others nearby and thought, My un~syrup, I went to the fridge and poured out the last of it, then made some fresh.
On Syrup
I use 1/3 roughly cubed onion (I use what I need, or what I have and adjust accordingly) and enough sugar to cover it, prepare it in the ½ pint to pint jar I store it in. I leave it out for a half an hour then put it in the fridge. In a hurry, I warm it slightly so the sugar dissolves quickly, but I think the quality is slightly effected as well. You can strain the liquid and store in a dropper bottle, or just store with the onion. I do both depending on time and such
(it's the same idea as when you prepare strawberries for strawberry shortcake if you use sugar.) If you do not use sugar, it can be prepared by cubing the onion and boiling it.
~~~
I have heard of using honey, but have not done that myself. I have soaked garlic cloves in honey as Susun Weed explained in one of her videos on You Tube. I didn't like taking by spoonful(but this could be the quality of honey I had). She recommended it for preventative and oncoming ills. I used it as a facial when I started getting a break out and it worked exceptionally well! I also used it on the souls of my feet and it softened them very nicely.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There are also some great teas. Breath Easy by Traditional Medicinal [caution, it's strong], but the ingredients can be found easily. I also found an interesting homemade throat lozenge on You Tube by Herb Mentor or Mountain Rose Herbs. It had the same kind of ingredients.
The following are ingredient in the Breathe Easy Tea;
Licorice root
eucalyptus
bitter fennel fruit
Bi Yan Pian dry Aqueous extract(I don't use when I make my own)
peppermint leaf
Calendula flower

Pleurisy root {Asclepias tuberosa, common from Canada southwards, growing from Ontario to Minnesota, most abundantly southward and southwestward, is known popularly as Pleurisy Root, from its medicinal use. Its stem forms an exception to Asclepias in general, by being almost or entirely devoid of the acrid milky juice containing caoutchouc, that distinguishes the rest of the genus and has gained them the name of Milkweeds.
---Description---It is a handsome, fleshy rooted, perennial plant, growing 1 to 1 1/2foot high and bearing corymbs of deep yellow and orange flowers in September. When cultivated, it does not like being disturbed, and prefers good peat soil.
The rootstock, the part used medicinally, is spindle-shaped and has a knotty crown, slightly but distinctly annulate, the remainder longitudinally wrinkled.
The dried root as found in commerce is usually in cut or broken pieces of variable size, 1 to 6 inches long and about 3/4 inch in thickness, externally pale orange-brown, becoming greyish-brown when kept long, internally whitish. It is tough and has an uneven fracture; the broken surface is granular; that of the bark is short and brittle. The wood is yellowish, with large white medullary rays. The drug is almost inodorous, but has a bitterish and disagreeable, somewhat acrid taste.}
&
ginger rhizome(root)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I also love French Onion Soup. I cut the onion longwise in rings, fry them in a splash of olive oil until soft, pour just enough brags liquid aminios (about a liberal tablespoon) add a clove of garlic, let cook just a few moments, add enough water to cover, (as you do for potatoes for mashing), and let cook 20 minutes. I make crutons as I am waiting, toast with parmesan for dipping. YUM~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My other task this morning was infusing my dandelion leaves. I can't wait for the end of the day to have some. I am a lover of the little lions since I was a small child. There was a fable about the lion of the dandelion that I don't remember lucidly, but tacitly. I want to research it, but I kind of like the childhood fables from my life that are remembered like a dream. It makes it fantastic!
Happy things and what a glorious day!

Disclaimer; this is my blog for referencing. I am not a professional obviously and am only referencing and sharing some of the wonders I have found in the garden. They help me, but I still see my doctor when I feel ill. She gets a giggle and a gaggle when she listens to my medicine cupboard inventory.

I also like cherry bark syrup when I need it.

The Farmgirl Movement~~~The need to know where your food comes from people

I was thinking that'd be great, and so would starting a chapter or such here in the PNW. Just thinking~~~

My personal favorite 'Mary Janes Outpost' excerpt;

..You pull up in front of the town’s general store, grab your hat off the seat, and step out and into…your next fantasy.
“Got any night crawlers?” you ask the young gal who’s already seriously wondering what you’re about. Everything else you already have in tow behind you-the beauty of a trailer (or a pickup truck with a camper or shell). Your stuff is always packed and ready to go.
Now you’ve just planted another seed, this time in someone else-the young gal who checked you out and spied your rig out front. Here’s what she saw:
Either a woman completely unafraid of being alone or doing her darndest to contront head-on her “alone-out-there” fear. She sensed your strength. She envied your spirit. Your gumption. She asked, “Where you from?” She wanted to know more….

Mary Jane Butters pioneered the Farmgirl movement, which focuses on organic farming with a do-it-yourself attitude. Articles in her magazine, as well as the beautiful videos on her website, will inspire you to harvest green garlic scapes, sew a garden apron, or bake fresh biscuits from your own home milled flour.
Mountain Rose Herbs has been working with Mary Jane for over a year now and we continue to draw inspiration from her story and her efforts to spread the message that choosing organics will lead to a healthy future for all of us.

Free Tea Party

Here is an interesting venue.

Guisepi~Thank you for your vision; love of life and tea! There is a great Tea Bus Map on their site. Check it out. Tick the title to be redirected there!
His bio;
Guisepi's past is hazey at most. Some say he was raised by a pack of baboons in Amazonian South America, sipping Mate while swinging from vine to vine. Others say he was born to a high lama in the highest inhabitable peaks of the Himalaya, drinking tea to beat off the cold and for meditational clarity. Recent reports, however, place his early years in Washington State, where he rarely drank any tea, other than when his mother made him when he was sick.

Regardless of his roots, his life is an evolution of the archetype of the American man - traveling the land, meeting all the characters therein, and working for a better America. Themes in his life include hobos and trains, gypsies and caravans, clowns and circuses, bards and vaudeville, cowboys and the west, tea masters and the orient, pirates and the maritime.

http://www.freeteaparty.org/FTP_Blog/Blog/Blog.html

Thier idea;

PHILOSPOPHY:
- The Free Tea Party offers an alternative to, and a balance for, self-centered philosophies often fostered by our society. This alternative is based on the "gift economy," or the idea that goods and services can be given without anything required in return. We believe that selfishness should be balanced out by selflessness.
- We also practice the principles of permaculture, nonviolent conflict resolution, and consensus decision-making.
- Although we are non-partisan, we support people, movements, and politicians who strive for positive socio-environmental change. Althought we are non-denominational, we respect core values and morals, as all religions are based upon a common ground. Although we are non-profit in the monetary sense, we see profit in the personal, social and environmental realms through our actions.

Insights from Morgaine; To Her Brilliance, Wednesday Woman Article, and A Sincere 1000 Thanks! Tick the Title to Redirect to Her Blogsite

There is a wonderful Blog I read. And today they put one of my favorite wisdoms (TQ) and is probably so for many (ie. my DMRuis kinder's). I have wanted to give 1000 thanks for all of the insights I have aquired through the wisedom and brilliance of this blog and especially of it's author. Thank you Ms. Morgaine & Happy Imbloc as well!

From Morgaine and Marianne Williamson;
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

Nature's Pharmacy! Amazing!

A sliced Carrot looks like the human eye. The pupil, iris and radiating lines look just like the human eye... and YES, science now shows carrots greatly enhance blood flow to and function of the eyes.

A Tomato has four chambers and is red. The heart has four chambers and is red. All of the research shows tomatoes are loaded with lycopine and are indeed pure heart and blood food.

Grapes hang in a cluster that has the shape of the heart. Each grape looks like a blood cell and all of the research today shows grapes are also profound heart and blood vitalizing food.

A Walnut looks like a little brain, a left and right hemisphere, upper cerebrums and lower cerebellums. Even the wrinkles or folds on the nut are just like the neo-cortex. We now know walnuts help develop more than three (3) dozen neuron-transmitters for brain function.

Kidney Beans actually heal and help maintain kidney function and yes, they look exactly like the human kidneys.

Celery, Bok Choy, Rhubarb and many more look just like bones. These foods specifically target bone strength. Bones are 23% sodium and these foods are 23% sodium. If you don't have enough sodium in your diet, the body pulls it from the bones, thus making them weak. These foods replenish the skeletal needs of the body.

Avocadoes, Eggplant and Pears
target the health and function of the womb and cervix of the female - they look just like these organs. Today's research shows that when a woman eats one avocado a week, it balances hormones, sheds unwanted birth weight, and prevents cervical cancers. And how profound is this? It takes exactly nine (9) months to grow an avocado from blossom to ripened fruit. There are over 14,000 photolytic chemical constituents of nutrition in each one of these foods (modern science has only studied and named about 141 of them)..

Figs
are full of seeds and hang in twos when they grow. Figs increase the mobility of male sperm and increase the numbers of Sperm as well to overcome male sterility.

Sweet Potatoes look like the pancreas and actually balance the glycemic index of diabetics.

Olives assist the health and function of the ovaries

Oranges, Grapefruits, and other Citrus fruits look just like the mammary glands of the female and actually assist the health of the breasts and the movement of lymph in and out of the breasts.

Onions look like the body's cells. Today's research shows onions help clear waste materials from all of the body cells. They even produce tears which wash the epithelial layers of the eyes. A working companion, Garlic, also helps eliminate waste materials and dangerous free radicals from the body.

A rare glimpse of the cave of crystals From BBC News

Mexico's Cave of Crystals stunned geologists when it was first discovered in 2000. The underground chamber contains some of the largest natural crystals ever found - some of the selenite structures have grown to more than 10m long. Professor Iain Stewart got a rare glimpse of the subterranean spectacle while filming for the new BBC series How the Earth Made Us.

Professor Stewart describes the cave as a geological wonder of the world
We kept on being told how difficult it was going to be to film in the Naica Cave, but nothing really prepares you for the extremes of that cavern.

It's about 50C in there, but it's the virtually 100% humidity added on top that makes it a potential killer.

That combination means that when you breathe air into your body, the surface of your lungs is actually the coolest surface the air encounters. That means the fluid starts to condense inside your lungs - and that's really not good news.

When the cave was first discovered it was just an accident.

Miners working in the Naica silver mine broke through the walls of the cavern and were astounded to discover these enormous crystals - the biggest anywhere on Earth.

But when the first people went in to explore, they were almost overcome by the conditions - and there's some pretty hairy video footage of them coming out of the cave on the verge of losing consciousness. So we knew the dangers were real.

When you first look at the kit your first thought is: "Is that it?"

There's a special cooling suit - which is basically like a suit of chain mail but filled with ice cubes.

Then there's a breathing system which feeds cool, dry air into your mask.

It's OK to take the mask off for a short while, but do without it for more than about 10 minutes, and it's likely that you're going to start keeling over.

I was lucky of course. All I had to do was stand there and talk, but the cameraman and all the others helping set out the lights were having to work in these conditions, wearing these cumbersome suits, and they really struggled.

We had a doctor outside the cave to monitor our vital signs, and we were coming out of the cavern with our heart rates up at 180.

The biggest danger was falling over; rescuing someone inside would have been very tricky.

Despite all the dangers, my overwhelming memory is the sheer beauty of the place.

Whenever people around me were faffing around with equipment, I'd just stop and look around at the crystals.

It's such a glorious place, it's like being in a modern art exhibit.

I kept reminding myself: "You're in the Naica Cave", because there's only a handful of geologists that have ever been in there, and so I was aware of how incredibly privileged I was.

Yet remarkably, for the people who own and run the Naica mine, the crystal cave is a side-show, a distraction.

They don't make any money out of it and sooner or later, when the economics of the mine change, it will close.

The pumps will be taken out, the mine and the cave will flood, and the crystals will once more be out of our reach.

But perhaps we should console ourselves with the thought that there are certainly lots more crystal caves waiting to be discovered.

For starters, the geology of the area around the cave suggests that there could be more crystal caves in the area around Naica.

But more broadly, the Earth's crust must be riddled with wonders like this.

We know more about the outer edges of the Solar System than we do about the first kilometre of the Earth's crust.

As we learn more about the crust, we can be sure that there will be discoveries even more spectacular than Naica. I just hope I'm around to see them.

How the Earth Made Us: The epic story of how geology, geography and climate have influenced mankind is on Tuesday 19th January on BBC Two at 2100 GMT

EFT

HEllo, hello
I have attached the website to the title, as usual.
There is a free, with free subscription to her site, ebook on the webpage. By simply clicking on the above title, EFT, you will be redirected there and the ebook link is there that Karen Lewis includes as her service. She is from the UK and even includes her phone number. I discovered her through my Luna Yoga book. EFT is interesting; and is becoming more notable, and was effective for me. I think it is worth a look.

Merry Christmas!

I remember a Christmas Story in one of Laura Ingalls Wilder's Books.

Their Pa had gone out in a terrible storm. He was supposed to be home with needed staples (food) and was late. They weren't even sure what day it was, but they were not too concerned with that. What they wanted was their Pa's safe arrival home. He did, indeed come home on Christmas day. He'd been detained because of the horrific storm.
They were overjoyed that their Pa was safely home with the help, I think, of their neighbor, Mr. Edwards. They had a simple dish that they were so happy to have and Pa brought them a single candy stick each. They were happy with it. That winter was cruel and daunting for them, but they made it. Their family stayed true to each other. Of course their need existed, but the simplicity of the story comes back. I haven't seen a life like that. Simply, primal with necessities that preceded anything we know, but still, simply elegant in the imagination, their simplicity of a season and a holiday.

I may not have the exact details of the story; or be even close, I do apoligize if this offends. Otherwise, I am happy to share my simple and sacred imagining. I couldn't find my old book to be sure of her words compared to my memory of that particular story, but the nature it brought me exudes life.

Giving thanks for my simplicity of this year,
Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas

Well, I can't really say why Lakewood is especially important to me; but this story says it all for itself.

~~Semper Fi ===Latin== Always Faithful~~

Lakewood police officer pens Christmas story
Posted By Mike Archbold on December 16, 2009 at 9:50 am
A little boy and his toy dinosaur who came by the Lakewood Office Department station Sunday to honor the four slain police officers touched an officer enough that the officer wanted to share it with friends.

One of the friends who received the letter, Tukwila police officer Mike Murphy, said he and his fellow officers were so touched by the story that they thought it should be shared with the community.

Murphy said the officer who wrote it agreed but wanted to remain anonymous.

"It is just a story of one child reaching out and helping heal the pain we have all suffered," Murphy said in his e-mail. "Our only goal in sending it is to reach out to our community and thank them for this and all the other love and support they have sent us through this very difficult time."

The Christmas story is reprinted below:

December 13, 2009

I’m not much for writing Christmas letters, and in fact this year, I didn’t even feel like making the effort of buying and addressing Christmas cards at all. I’m sure you all have heard of the terrible tragedy that occurred here in Lakewood two weeks ago today – four of our officers, four people that have become my friends over the past 5 years as we all worked here together, were gunned down as they sat in a coffee shop. Three fathers and a mother – all of whom were dedicated to their jobs and their families – now dead. The grief at our station and in our community has been overwhelming and we have all now just barely begun to process what this means for our department and for police departments all across our state and nation. Several times since this event happened, police agencies have responded to reports of individuals across King and Pierce Counties causing commotions and claiming to be planning to kill more officers. We do our best to maintain our composure and continue to do our jobs the best that we can.

It is hard not to remain bleak and jaded with these events so fresh in our minds. But something happened today, just 20 minutes ago, which made me want to send out a Christmas letter. I’m here at work and was just out in our secure parking lot helping another officer load collection bins into his car to take to a local Lakewood Police Independent Guild fundraiser event. I heard a woman, standing with a boy who couldn’t have been more than 3 or 4 years old, calling, “Excuse me….” through our locked gate. She had apparently been trying to get to our front counter but found no one there, it being Sunday, and had just happened to see us in the parking lot. I walked over to her and saw that the little boy was holding a plastic baggy containing a dollar and some change, and was clutching a well-worn stuffed dinosaur.

The woman told me that her son, AJ, had seen the stories on tv about our 4 slain officers. She said that they had driven to our station all the way from Kingston because her son was so intent on helping the children of these officers. I opened the gate and the boy handed me the plastic baggy containing all the money from his piggybank and a note on which he had written “AJ….From me to Pleec. I Love You.” And then, with tears in his eyes, he handed me his stuffed dinosaur. AJ’s mom explained that he wanted to give the children of the slain officers the most precious thing that he owned, and that was his dinosaur, Bruno.
I told AJ that I would take the money that he wanted to donate, but that I thought the best thing he could do for the children of our 4 officers was to keep Bruno safe with him but to keep those kids in his heart when he hugged his dinosaur. He agreed and gratefully took Bruno back from me and held him tightly as if he never wanted to let him go again.

We have seen many, many acts of generosity and kindness over the past 2 weeks. We have hugged more friends and strangers than we could have ever imagined and have mended broken ties with people we haven’t talked to for years. Yet nothing has touched me deeper, or given me more hope for the future, than AJ and his stuffed dinosaur. I gave AJ one of our department challenge coins, explaining to him that we only gave them out to the bravest and most deserving people we came across. I hope he will realize someday how much more than a dollar and some change he gave to me and to the Lakewood Police Department today.

So anyway, none of that is about Christmas, but it is about hope and love and I thought it was appropriate to share this holiday season.

I hope this letter finds all of you well and eager to spend the holidays with those you love. Squeeze everyone a little tighter and hug them a little

June 1st and the Midnight Summer's Dream

Ode to this beautiful time on earth.
The one where we were all birthed.
To learn from it is at all intense.
The lessons are all so immense. Unless they are modest.
To all of my fellow travelers converge.
And we'll learn from each other or we'll even merge.
To one another where we came and to where we go?
Does anyone ponder these things or say,
I have to now, I have you today??
What of tomorrow, where will we all go?
Or does it even matter how one doth flow?
Forever onwards to what, do we know?
Do we need to identify,
Or are we all where we should already be for?
And after.

My personal rhyme of the day.
Please listen and don't think I'm astray.
I may always have been this way,
I may not want to be any other day.
We might meet and say, yes we are and here we are now,
Or when we go will we go far?

I only know I am so glad for all of the times and places we've all had.
And to you who consciously make a difference, thank you and blessings and happily puristic!
And not to say we don't always any way make a difference how ever it is deemed.
For this I know to be true, do you?
Have impeccable speech
Speak only in Truth. Even if our truths vary, they are easier to read.
Don't take anything personal.
Don't make assumptions.
Do your Best.

Peace out!

Banana This; Recycle Old Peels~ fertilizer or silver polish

There are things you can do with that old peel.

1. Do you have a green thumb? House hold plants and outside gardens require fertilization. A great way to give your plants nutrients is with a banana peel. The banana peel is very rich in potassium and phosphorus, which give that added boost to your plants soil, especially so with roses. Here is how to use a banana peel to fertilizer your soil for your plants. Remove the peel from the banana. Place the banana peel on a cookie sheet to let it air dry. Grab a paper bag or envelope. Crumble the dried banana peel and place it in the bag. Let the banana sit at room temperature for about two days. When your caring for your plant, give it a potassium treat of crumbled banana peel. Mix well in the soil to ensure the roots are fed evenly.
2. Have you been thinking about pulling out that old silver? Well there is no time like the present. Bananas peel can also be used to polish silver. Yes, polish silver. Take the old peels and place them in a blender. You want the peels to become smooth and creamy. Once they have, grab a cloth and small amounts of the creamed banana peel and begin polishing your silver. The shine will be breath taking.

SOURDOUGH STARTER with WILD YEAST

SOURDOUGH STARTER with WILD YEAST
Wild yeasts exist in the air around you and to some extent on the wheat berries. There are wild yeasts on grapes (unsulphured) and apples and other fruits. It is those wild yeasts which are 'captured' to make a sourdough starter. The process takes from 3 to 5 days. I wish I had specific amounts for you, but you could start with 1/4 to 1/2 cup of flour and mix in enough warm (not hot) water to make a thin paste. DO NOT make it too soupy. That, in fact, is the trick to a good starter, according to the French bread makers, and I think they should know. And after you've fooled around with the flour and water thing, you might wish to branch out into adding those unsulphured grapes, apples, sour milk, etc as a catalyst in order to capture other strains of yeast. Each of these strains has a slightly different taste. In fact if you move to another area, you might end up with a starter that produces an entirely different flavor. For instance, San Francisco sourdough bread is well known and has a distinct taste due to the wild strains in the air there. On day one you mix the flour and water (and add any catalysts to encourage fermentation) and place in a warm spot. After 3 days, the dough should be moist, inflated, and slightly sour. More flour and water is added (mixed in) and left to sit in a warm spot. After 2 days the process is repeated. Then the next day it is done again. Note the order: 3 days, 2 days, 1 day. At this point you should be able to make a loaf of bread using part of the starter and adding back what you took out in the form of more flour and water. Rule of thumb: Use about 10% starter to size of loaf. In the case of a 2 lb loaf this is a bit over 3 oz of starter (3.2 to be exact). For a 1 lb loaf 1.5 oz would be used. A book that describes this process in great detail is The Village Baker by Joe Ortiz, copyright 1993, published by Ten Speed Press, Berkley CA. If it's not still in print, try the used books stores, that's where I got mine. Or try your local library. If they don't have it, they might be able to get it for you. ©2008 by Ernestina Parziale
