Description: Stet/aria: Leafy stems frequently branched; leaves oval (egg-shaped) or linear; flowers white in clusters or borne in angle between leaf and stem. S. media: Stems 5-45 cm long; leaves opposite, oval, smooth and pointed; flowers small, white, star shaped, borne in stem leaf angle. Flowers may not open when overcast or rainy.
Location: Stet/aria: Distributed throughout North America in moist, shady, low elevations in waste or cultivated ground.
Season: Nearly entire year.
